Online Blackjack Tips

Introduction

Blackjack is a very popular game in casinos, and they have been for ages. The main reason why it’s one, if not the most, of the most popular games in casinos is because it’s easy to learn. There are basics to learn in playing this game, and before you know it, you will be a pro in no time. You will also be able to derive some strategies depending on what type of Blackjack you are playing, and this could give you an edge over the casino. This is another great reason why this game is one of the most popular games in casinos. This game is also very popular because it’s an exciting and fun card game with a dealer, and one to seven players, depending on the table.

These days, you don’t have to play your favorite game at the traditional casino anymore. You can play your favorite casino game online in the comfort of your home. And furthermore, you can do it whenever you want- even in the middle of the night, if you like. And with Blackjack as popular as it is, you will have the ultimate in entertainment and fun as well as great chances to win some money and other prizes.

In starting out, Blackjack can be a little confusing; however, once you learn the rules and betting options, it would be really easy. There is also a simplified, three stage, Blackjack strategy that can be used. The perfect strategy must cover every possible card combination. And with the simplified Blackjack strategy, you will have a basic strategy that is great for most hands that you will come across. Afterwards, you will progress to an advanced level until you’ll reach a level of a high rolling pro. It’s all for the taken in this game!

First the Basics

First thing to know is that Blackjack is usually played with eight of the same packs of 52 standard cards. That is a total of 416 cards. Each card has a value as indicated by the number on the card with the exceptions of Aces, Kings, Queens, and Jacks. Aces could be either one or 11, and the Kings, Queens, and Jacks are each the value of 10.

At the beginning of each round, you must place a bet, and the dealer then deals two cards to himself and you. Both of your cards would be faced up, but only one of the dealer’s cards would be faced up. Your betting options would be as follows:

Stand- you don’t want any more cards.

Hit- you want another card from the dealer.

Double- your bet is doubled, but you only receive one card.

Split- when having a pair, you split it into two separate hands.

Surrender- you fold your cards and lose the best.

Insurance- a Blackjack can be insured when the dealer shows an Ace.

To obtain the Blackjack, the dealer or you must have points that total 21 from a 10 value card and an Ace. If the points exceeds 21 points, you would go bust and lose your bet. So, if you get, for example, two Aces, you would want one of the cards to be a value of one instead of 11 because if their both 11, then the total will be 22 which is a bust. The hole card is the hidden card of the dealer that is shown once you stand. At this point, the dealer can either stand or hit until he has at least 17 points. Many times the dealer would bust when he is trying to reach 17 points. And then your hand will win, in this case.

Tips & Techniques

As mentioned before, there is a simplified, three stage, Blackjack strategy. Stage one is the beginner’s Blackjack strategy, stage two is the intermediate Blackjack strategy, and the third stage is advanced Blackjack strategy. With the beginning strategy, you will hit when you have a total of three to 11 or 12 to 16, if the dealer has more than a total of six points. Otherwise, you will stand. You will also stand with a total of 17 to 20 points. When it comes to a hit, you will do that when you have a total of seven points when the dealer has more than eight points. Otherwise, you will stand.

With stage two, the intermediate Blackjack strategy, you will have an addition of a Split when you have a pair along with using the beginner’s strategy. You must split the 4s, 5s, and 10s, and you must hit when you have a pair of 4s. You must only hit with a pair of 5s when the dealer has a total of 10 or an Ace; otherwise, you must double down. And with a pair of 10s, you must stand.

The stage three level is the advanced Blackjack strategy when you use the addition of the intermediate strategy, but you will double down on 9, 10 and 11. When the dealer has less than seven points, you will double down at nine points. When the dealer has less than 10 points, you will double down at 10 points. Other than that, you will double down at 11 points.

Other Things to Note

When playing Blackjack, there are different things that you must know to use the best option possible. For one, you will have an advantage in that you can play your hand anyway you want to while the dealer has to abide by house rules in regarding when he has to take another card or stand. However, you must realize also that the dealer will have an advantage in the long run because the casino experts know how to make an overall profit from Blackjack players.

Another thing to remember is that the object of the game is to get more points than the dealer, and not to try to get 21 points. Trying to get 21 points will most likely become a bust many times. So, you can win with low hands, such as 10, 13, 15 if your hand is more than the dealer. Also, many times, the dealer is required to stand when he reaches 17 points.

There are different things to know about Blackjack’s payouts. For one, you will win 1.5 times the bet if you make Blackjack. Also, you will win the same amount of your bet if your points are higher than the dealers or if the dealer busts. And if the dealer and your hand equal the same points, you will get back your bet. The last, but not least, thing to know is that many online casinos have various Blackjack bonuses that changes from time to time, so it’s best to stay abreast of that.
